This is a piliminary shot at a home-page for Wordpress Plugin called “Starred Review”. The idea is we watch a lot of films, read a tonne of books and enjoy various radio and tv programmes. Wouldn’t it be nice to catalog the good ones even if we’re not prepared to sit down and write-up a great long post about it all. Mark Hodges wrote Starred Review, at the moment this is little more than a mirror of his original code, which I will slowly work into something brand-new.

Starred Review has two parts; one is a ‘badge’ a bit of code that will retrieve your latest reviews from the database and display them in miniature form on your front-page, or where-ever. Notice on my homepage the badge is right next to the search box. You can control the badge size, number of posts shown etc. Its all quite simple. The next part is a main depository of reviews, a big old list of reviews- with minimal display options. Both need a little perfection. But can be fairly well done with CSS.

I’m providing a beta version of Starred Review right from the get-go. It’s just Marc’s original code, with my patch and then some… to bring it up-to-date with Wordpress 2.2.1. At the moment it does what it says on the tin, almost. I hope you find it useful.
