What Obama actually said during that ‘Joe the Plumber’ fracas:

Interesting… is this a joke?: the interviewer on WFTV who compared Obama’s “spread the wealth’ around to a form Socialism (see previous post) is married to a political/media consultant with ties to the current Republican presidential candidates. According to ‘Blue Tidal Wave’ (i know… that’s like quoting someguyyou’veneverheardof.com) but then Olbermann mentioned it during his show last night. Meh, I’ll look into it.
Barbara and Wade West have frequently emceed Republican fundraisers in the local Central Florida community for at least a decade.
Anyway. Joe the plumber in full.
With 10 days to go till the u.s. election it is becoming near impossible to find a non-partisan interview with any of the involved candidates, see above for a worse-case (did the McCain campaign pen these talking points?). Since Couric, I haven’t seen one interview with Palin in which she speaks un-edited for longer than 30 seconds. Anyone?
Two ads were aired today, take a look. One from the Republican campaign- which clearly builds on McCain’s I’m not President Bush rebuke, what I felt was a fairly effective line in last night’s debate. In this ’spot’ there’s more of the Maverickyness we’ve come to detest; and then straight to the matter (in a rather alarmist fashion): Damn you Washington, its the democratic house majority to blame for 8 years of incompetence, I mean they’ve been ruling the roost since Jan ‘07. Anyways- Be reassured Republican voters- McCain will have nothing to do with the no good goings on of the past 8 years.
One ‘political commentator’ (read: hack blogger– and we know all about them here are MetaC :D ) describes the Republican Presidential Candidate as:
rolling his eyes, blinking… looking like a deer in the headlights — as sure a suggestion as any that the Obama campaign thought they won last night’s debate as much (if not more) on style as substance.
Anyway, the ad/spot is titled… ‘FIGHT’!!!!!!!!! I know. But it is way more mature than ‘Kill Him’ (which was yelled - again - by raving lunatic fans at a Palin/McCain rally, Palin was present, she said nothing).
Alright. Please- stop giggling. Yes, he does look like one of those raving elderly men who grab you round the neck and whisper wisdom before you’re forced to feign a lunch appointment, deafness or (finally) agreement. Note the blurred dĂ©cor also.
Obama’s ad “90 Percent” is a fine example of selective, but not blatantly deceptive I feel, editing. It speaks for itself (as does McCain, hoh hoh):
Ouch, Jon Stewart was speaking earlier in the month about satire; we’re at the point where SNL can quote Sarah Palin verbatim and get big laughs. Isn’t that worrying?
