If you’re using Coppola (I’ve only found a
handful of users - but 25 downloads a day!) you’ll want to patch this little
bug, its with a link I though I’d cleverly put in to allow Safari RSS / Firefox
users to link to the RSS feed using the new “feed:” a href… thingy, okay - so
I don’t fully understand why it’s better than a direct link, but its broken in
Template 1.1 anyway, here’s the fix (below) just use Apple+F to find the
error…Currently
reads:“feed:rss.xml”Replace
with:“feed:<$BlogBaseURL$>rss.xml”

No, I can’t offer enough apologies - but earlier
today I lost (well… deleted) my .Mac “Sites” folder. So - you Coppola-ers
wen’t all crazy and had no images for a good few hours, till the backup process
(I noticed, freaked out and uploaded everything pronto) got
underway.Coppola is now up and
running. 100% S.A.F and you can download 1.1 today. Also, for those who are into
these things, attached is a zip file containing all the images (gifs and pngs)
you’ll want to upload on your own webspace, following the README file for
details. (

Hey, you crazy Coppola-ers. Thanks
for the great feedback on version 1.0, you’ve given your all, and thrown some
great ideas my way and some wonderful encouragement to fulfil my words’; I’ll
keep this project alive for as long as someone needs it and thus… we have
Coppola 1.1.A few minor
fixes and spehelings to be worked out and some behind the scenes re-coding to
do, making things a little snappier from the outset. I’m using Coppola myself
now (callumalden.tk)
and I’ll continue to hack about on my own site, incorporating smidgens of
wonderfulness into our beloved Coppola TemplateSet. Looks like iBlog2 is coming
along, I’d go checkout the forums,
see if you can’t throw some ideas Surat’s
way.That’s the sort of
deal I’m asking for now - continue to use Coppola, keep sending the word-ups on
what your doing with it. I’m going to start a “powered by” list super-soon, so
link me to your Coppola’s. Uber-bonus points for thinking outside the box and
inside the browser. Any thoughts on something that’d look grand in Coppola 1.1 -
get them to me by the end of the week and I’ll try them out.
Ok, so my Japanese isn’t great - I used google to
de-tranlate (that is I used translation to get there in the first place) my
first Japanese
Entry on the Coppola
iBlog… What I wanted to say was “my Japanese isn’t so great? Well, I’ll visit
Japan one day to learn!” or something like that. Anyhoo, from Google’s
translation:
Regrettable my word is weak. I visit the Gun
where you are large in order to learn
eventually.
I’ve noticed, in-between iBlog issue to issue,
that this Blogging application has a huge following in Japan, like mad-crazy
popular. And those Japanese even beat us at blogging. They’ve been living
outside the box since day one - and what beautiful examples of simplistic,
expandable elegant design. Well - Coppola’s
got some too, I reckon, and so I’m pulling my learn Japanese books - “How to
Make Out in Japanese” being at the top of the stack - and I’ve started writing
some explanations of what I’m getting at, where I’m trying to get to etc. and
I’ll send them to the big boys in Japanese iBlogging. If you are a Japanese
visitor to Kalamazootopia, why not lend a hand? Or - send me a key, I’ll come
stay over??Anyway, Coppola
is going great, two dozen downloads in 3 days - and great buzz around the
website, Google’s been pulling in the iBloggers - and I’ve started posting about
it over at dotmac.info and iBloggers. I say posting, I mean spamming of
course!
