Yes, Minister.

I don’t watch that much tv, but I won’t miss “The Thick of It“. Its like “Drop The Dead Donkey” mixed with “the Office” and Alistair Campbell’s Peter Capaldi’s a mental Scot… Some department of something near Downing Street is caught in a weekly state of great disturbance, we drop in (with return of the shakey-cam) and watch a day of Blairite-esque spin and back-stabbing unfurl. Usually this involves a painful insult, a threat to someone’s face, blackmail or the beginnings of some immoral relationship that will end in some civil-service flunky resigning. Needless to say it was created by Armando Iannucci, there’s a wicked-cool BBC site with interviews and “highlights” all over it; here. Peter Capaldi who plays a Policy Co-ordinator Enforcer from Number 10 is awesome and Happy-Slapping is funny again. Thenagain Farce is everlasting.

nmfp = not my fucking problem

I used to like E.R. - I guess I just noticed that for all its writers, co-Directors and Executive Proudcers (one’s Michael bloody Crichton) the whole cast seem to have attended the same acting school; the E.R. acting school, where everyone learns how to be Dr. Greene. Who I miss. Technically its the best thing on the box.

That’s my tv update, out.
