Hotel Greens

I’m down in the ‘bro
for a bit, for everyone who’s not me bro = Edinburgh,
for my American visitors “Edinbro” geddit? It’s a nice place, a bit like
Cambridge without the good weather and more Englishings than your average
University town.So, my Camp America
interview went well… I guess – the interviewer was a lovely young lady, and I
waffled for a good hour about everything I had to offer the kids of America. I
personally want to create the first Camp America blog, and it’ll rock, I
mentioned my time with the Scouts and she probed my Application Form in which I
talked about my background in IT and how I live for camping… I do – ask
Laurence, who mentioned he was up from St. Andrews for a bit, and he’d like to
get together, maybe see the old gang…
let’s go
camping!
” didn’t go down well with him… “I
mean, let’s go out for a drink”. (Read

So, I’m trying to be all Lost in Translation,
but this is no Hyatt. I’m staying at “Greens” a hotel I’ve visited once before.
There’s no pool, or gym room. The restaurant is 3 Star and room service is in
Indian Rupees or does a sandwich really cost ¬£5…. with a ¬£2 service
charge to boot. The woman at reception was unresponsive to say the least, and my
comments on how I’d once stayed before, my kind words on that fine stay (on an
occasion which lead to a hell of a weekend; will be recounted one day) didn’t
win me any bonus upgrade-yo! brownie
points.Saw Fiona Todd today too, just
yelled at her across the street – didn’t have time to stop and tell her the
story of my life sorry. Didn’t meet any Japanese though – which is unusual, some
Germans – who were amused at my favourite Deuche phrase “in the country” my
pronunciation won me their attention, but not a weekend trip to a Berlin
suburb… auf dem
land
? – no, no – it’s
on
the city.

this is an old post - the formatting may be jumbled
it may simply make no sense... i was young!
