The bureaucratic idiots - as Jones remarks:
“don’t know what they’ve got”. They’re missing the big issue, and denying
scientists a historical relic to pour over, decipher and document. I think this
is Speilberg tackling America - the powers that be - and the Holocaust, to be
crass Speilberg could be saying; just like The Ark and Roswell America will put
problems in a box, under lock and key - it’s not about secrecy or a Religious
tact, its a simple “if we don’t have to, then why?”
The Liberal Democrats are the
third
party.
A party who have failed consecutively to gain capital on the failure and
mistrust of the big two - Labour and the Conservatives. My problem with the
Lib-Dems, in one name- Charles Kennedy. I trust him, and will listen to him even
agree with some of his policies and applaud his constant stance on Tony Blair,
War and Devolution.However, he’s a
weak leader - a dull speaker. This is the
time for the Lib-Dems, they have a good track
record in Scotland, a left-ist
position (I agree with) on immigration and, yes, compared to Blair and Howard -
Charles Kennedy is a popular leader, I read “75%” of the electorate
trust that drunk - this does not mean 75% will vote Liberal Democrat. If this is the time -
Kennedy should say so, their tag is the “Real Alternative”, but he’s talking
himself to death - he’s got the wrong idea; talking about health and crime at
every opportunity… why so? Because they have a simple and succinct answers, a
tried-and-true policy on these issues, Kennedy is a milker… They can’t
recognise that Scotland has it’s own agenda, and however beneficial their
policies will be, people are not listening - nothing to do with presentation,
nor content it’s the voice, the tweedy new-father doesn’t go down
well.That’s it basically, sad - but a
party to lead the UK for the next 5 years can not be this one. They’re not ready
for it.
Ever
tried using a Fax Machine - they are archaic. Today I was forced to send a fax
(read: to lazy to walk to the post office) so I made sure the ink was dry and
the thing was plugged into the wall. I feed it (one sheet at a time) and nothing
happens, call Mr. Alden (the elder) he yells at it for a bit, tells me he hasn’t
used it for months and continues to force - a now rather crumpled US Visa form -
into the feeder. I head for the Mac; remembering sending and receiving faxes
under OS 9 was simple-icious, so OS X must have some blatantly beautiful way of
sending my form pronto… the post office closed at 12:30 we’ve been bashing the
‘box’ for about an hour by now.The
following is a short explanation on the subject of OS X and faxes (Read
On)

You’ve heard it before - we’re all
so
very clever that we’ve started missing the point. I’ve been enjoying the election
campaign for the last few days, taking a break from CNNi and Hala.
I’ve noticed a sad and telling manifestation of Externiality
In 90% of the vox-pops;
the quote is “oh, I don’t trust any of them”. The ‘voice of the people’ (or if
your Michael Howard - Peeeeeple) is so clever, so in-touch and informed that at
the question “are you interested in the policies of x” or “will you vote”, “do
you believe…”, “who do you trust…” they just smile - throw their hands up
and giggle “I don’t care” - “I’m tired with all of
them”.Well, I’m tired with it too -
“sick fed up” as my mother would put it, but I’ve got space and time to do a
little better than the totalistic “ITV said Tony Blair’s a liar… and Michael
Howard is Welsh… and there are too many choices… I’ll just sit under the
table like Mr. Wilson told me to” types. Saying these groups are the
disenfranchised or disillusioned
is so pretentious (that’s my new year’s resolution blown). British people are
just lazy, we wave a flag, watch the Queen, love war films and hate anyone who
wants to be a part of this great county… but vote? “No, I’ve done that
already”, “what for?” - someone said that to my face once, I got so angry (for
good
reasons).Anyway,
this is a bit of a warning, in the next few weeks Kalamazootopia will become a
musing-ground for my political stance and I’ll be yelling about what x just
said… etc. In my inaugural rant I said I wouldn’t, but it’s about time I
dropped the silence and defined myself (in a political
sense).
