iPod Socks

A joke, surely. I said. I was wrong, iPod socks are
here for Christmas say all the tech blogs, and even target="NewWindow">Apple Store has listed them as “Build Time 2 - 3
Weeks”. So what about us in the UK? Doesn’t look like our Pods are good enough
to warm, as our Apple Store is STILL sock free. In the bleak winter months
that’s the appeal of these wonderfully camp-alicious iPod Socks, right? Nice
soul warming colours with purpose. Keep your iPod scratch-free, toasty and dry
from hail, slush snow and saliva. I’m soon to upgrade from my 3G. Warranty is
still good for an extended 7 months, so maybe I’ll go up to the iPod
Photo
and import some sock-tastic company for it? It’s important to
note target="NewWindow">Billy was way ahead of the game- he keeps his
Cannon A60 nice and shiny-new inside a pink sock, and has done for months, take
that Apple. Oh they did. target="NewWindow">(Evidence).

iBlog

I’m having real trouble blogging, don’t worry I
saved the posts that didn’t work out for another day’s edit. Maybe I shouldn’t
edit, there are blogs out there where vast percentage of content is like some
ditzy 15 year old, hello-kitty invested female mind… I hope that when/if I
accumulate some readers to “Callum Alden’s Homepage” they’ll (you’ll) appreciate
the lack of shit, well moderate self-editing, that exists in my
back catalogue. Now, if you don’t mind I’m off to enjoy the Mystery White Boy
himself.Screw that actually, In more
ways than one I’ve been blocked from blogging, the week before Christmas I put
my iBook on eBay, the hard-disk can’t have too much left in it- it’s been
running since 2002, I thought I’d give it an easy-life somewhere the user wasn’t
going to take it to bed, use it with no consideration to ventilation - fall
asleep on it, use it for editing hours of video and use the system disk as a
cache… So I stick it on eBay and of course it sells, now- in my mind this was
to make way for an upgrade - a PowerBook G4 with all the power an out-of work
advertising ‘fella needs… So, that didn’t happen, and for about 3 weeks my
iBook has been sitting - empty. My apps backed up to the Maxtor 80GB, which
turned out to be non-bootable. So, I had no access to MY macintosh, to my iBlog
app, to editing my blog. It’s been hard, but on my PC I’ve written some stuff
I’ll get round to uploading. Just thought I’d keep you informed.

iTunes Mini Player Thing

Apple
wtf. I understand you’re changing things in OS X Tiger, with a dashboard widget
that acts as a handy next track, pause, play dilly. However, at the moment
iTunes 4.7.1 on Windows and Mac OS has this ridiculous mini iTunes player which
fits no-where on my desktop, in regards easy access. Why no cross-app shortcuts
either? There are third-party ways round, i know, but I take pride in an OS that
uses has no walkarounds, everything should have been thought out- I need to use
my mind for… other stuff. Also - Media Player and Real Player, a dozen other
programs actually (on Windows) respond to my interactive keyboard… changing
track / volume whether in focus or not, iTunes does not. I’m guessing the same
would happen if I keyboarded up my iBook. Fix it. Then I’ll
‘Enjoy’.
