Five employees of the Bank of Japan got in hot
water for swapping 11 old bank notes from their wallets for 11 new bank notes
with provocative serial numbers (E888888M, anyone?) which appeal to collectors
of that sort of thing. All of the provocatively numbered bank notes were
eventually retrieved and the people involved were either suspended from work,
had their salaries cut, or were given a warning, thus preserving the bank’s
integrity. (Query: why not put crazy numbers on all bank
notes?)via

Those crazy Japanese.
